Description

The Court House is a farmhouse built in the 17th century and late 18th century. It features a limestone ashlar front, with brick in Flemish bond at the rear, and squared coursed rubble with a plinth and quoins, along with a coped gable on the 17th-century section. The roof is slate, and there are ashlar and rendered end stacks. The building has two storeys plus an attic and a four-window range.

At the center of the late 18th-century section, there is a part-glazed, six-panelled door flanked by Doric columns and topped with an open pediment. To the far left and left, there are four first-floor openings with 16-pane sash windows featuring flat arches. To the right of the door, there are two narrower 12-pane sashes with stone lintels. The 17th-century range is attached to the left and was extended in the 19th century. On the gable end, there is a three-light mullioned window on both the ground and first floors, and a two-light mullioned window in the gable. The mullioned windows have hood moulds and label stops.

Inside, there is a large open fireplace with a bressumer faced with a timber board and an imitation keyblock. The ground floor features four-panelled doors and stone flagged floors throughout.
