Description

Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the early 18th century. The front is constructed of sandstone ashlar, featuring a plinth, storey bands, and a moulded eaves cornice. The sides are made of brick in Flemish bond, with a stone storey band and quoins. The roof is a combination of plain tiles and 20th-century tiles, with brick stacks at the ends. The building has a T-shaped plan and is two stories high, with a three-window range of 16-pane sash windows that have stone flat arches. The central entrance features a four-panelled door beneath a stone flat arch, flanked by pilasters and topped with a shallow stone hood supported by consoles. At the rear, there is a two-story range made of lias and brick, which has one- and two-light paired casements. Between the main range and the rear range, there is a brick staircase projection with a long leaded-light window. An 18th-century brick dairy is attached to the farmhouse. Inside, there is a winder staircase with large tapering balusters and a moulded rail that leads to the attics. The interior also features chamfered spine beams and large open fireplaces that have been refaced, with 18th-century panelled cupboards on either side of the fireplaces. The rear range has a stone-flagged floor.
