Description
The Woodlands is a cottage dating from the 18th century, constructed with a timber frame that may be faced with brick at the front. The front and gable end are rendered, and the roof is tiled from the 20th century, featuring brick stacks at the internal and end sections. The building has a three-unit plan and consists of one storey plus an attic. It has a three-window range that includes 19th-century sash windows and two-light casements from the 19th and 20th centuries. There is a four-panelled door to the centre-left and a 19th-century plank door to the centre-right. A gabled dormer is located at the centre, with a 20th-century dormer to the right. The left gable end features a 19th-century canted bay and an additional two-light casement. To the right, there is a 19th-century outbuilding extension. The timber framing with brick infill is complete at the rear. Inside, there is a chamfered beam and 18th-century panelling on the ground floor, which is likely reused. The building is included for its group value.
