Description
The Bowling Green Public House is a public house, likely originally a house, dating from the mid-18th century, with an early 19th-century addition at the front. It is constructed of brick in a Flemish garden wall bond, with the front rendered. The building features a 20th-century tiled roof with a brick ridge and lateral and end stacks. It has a double-depth plan and is two stories high, with a three-window range of 19th-century three-light casements. There is a 20th-century door set within a 19th-century pilaster surround, although the fanlight above has been removed. At the rear, there is an 18th-century parallel range that has 19th and 20th-century casements on the left gable end, along with 19th and 20th-century extensions. The interior is noted for having spine beams.
