Description
Stockton Fields Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond, featuring some flared headers. The building has two-storey bands and a dentilled brick eaves cornice. The roof is tiled and from the 20th century, with brick stacks at each end. The farmhouse has a T-shaped plan and consists of two storeys plus an attic. The front has a three-window range of three-light casements, with one two-light casement located in the center of the first floor. The windows are topped with segmental brick arches that have keyblocks. There is a panelled and glazed door with a plain 20th-century overlight. At the rear, there is a two-storey brick range that contains 20th-century casements, and a six-panelled door leads to the rear of the main range. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is likely to be of interest. Attached to the rear of the farmhouse is an 18th-century brick barn and stable block, which features a nogged brick eaves cornice, 19th-century plank doors, and 20th-century casements. The interior of the barn and stable is noted for having a queen-strut roof.
