Description

Sunrise Cottage is a house dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with quoins, and has a coped gable to the left side. The roof is tiled, with a rendered brick ridge and an ashlar end stack featuring two flues set on a moulded plinth. The house is two storeys high, with a three-window front. It has a two-unit plan. A 19th-century plank door, with a 20th-century lintel, is positioned centrally. To the left of the door, and directly above it on the first floor, is a 19th-century two-light casement window. Ground-floor windows to the left and right are three-light mullioned windows, each with a hood mould and label stops. First-floor windows to the left and right are also two-light mullioned windows. A small, chamfered light is found in the left gable end. The rear of the house has a four-centred, chamfered stone doorway and further two- and three-light mullioned windows to all openings in the earlier part of the range. The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to be of interest.
