Description
Farmhouse. Dated 1668, with an 18th-century addition and a raised 19th-century section. The farmhouse is constructed from limestone ashlar, with a plinth, quoins and a coped gable on the 18th-century range. The 17th-century range was raised using 19th-century brick. It has a tile roof with ashlar and brick end stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with a five-window front. It originally had a two-unit plan. A 19th-century plank door with a wood lintel is in the centre of the 17th-century range, flanked by two 20th-century casements and a small 19th-century casement. A datestone above the first-floor three-light casement, inscribed in bas-relief '16 P 68/RI', marks the original build date. The 18th-century range has two 20th-century two-light casements on each floor, with original flat arches and keystones. The interior of the 18th-century range features four-panelled doors, a large open fireplace with a chamfered stone surround and a chamfered timber bressumer, chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, stone flagged floors and 18th-century board floors. The 17th-century range contains an original winder staircase to the side of the open fireplace. The building is included for group value.
