Description
Sundown and adjoining offices is a house and offices dated 1678, located on Darling Scott Road in Shipston on Stour. The building is probably constructed of squared coursed limestone, which has been rendered. It features a slate roof with a brick ridge stack and stands two storeys plus an attic, with a three-window range and a two-unit plan.
At the center, there is a 20th-century stone gabled porch that incorporates an original moulded datestone inscribed in bas-relief with 'B/SM/1678' above the door. On the ground and first floors, to the left and right, there are three-light mullioned windows with hood moulds and label stops. The first floor center has a single stone light. On the ground floor to the left, there is a 20th-century plank door with a stone hood, and above it, a 20th-century two-light mullioned window. The building also features two 19th-century gabled dormers. To the left, there is a two-storey early 19th-century rendered range with a tripartite sash window on both floors. This building is included for its group value.
