Description
This is a house, now divided into three dwellings, dating from 1699. It was originally built as a three-unit structure. The building is constructed from squared coursed limestone and has a Collyweston slate roof. It is two storeys high with an attic. The front of the building has a five-window facade, featuring two-light stone mullion windows at the first floor level. A single similar window is located on the ground floor to the far left. Other ground floor windows are from the 19th and 20th centuries and have wood and concrete lintels. There are three 20th-century doors in the centre of the range, with the door on the left having a square-headed moulded stone surround. The building features a chamfered plinth and a moulded string course between the floors. Five 19th-century Lincolnshire dormers are visible. The roof has ashlar gable parapets and stone and ashlar stacks at the ridge and ends, with the central stack having moulded stone cornices. An oval window with a moulded stone surround and a datestone above is located on the first floor to the left. A rear wing, dating from the 18th century, adjoins the rear of number 72. The interior of number 68 includes a staircase from the early 19th century, with a stick balustrade and wreathed handrails. A room on the left side of the house also features early 19th-century cornices.
