Description
House. This property likely originated in the late 17th century, with substantial alteration and rebuilding in the mid-18th century. It is constructed from squared coursed limestone, with a Collyweston slate roof. Originally arranged with a three-unit plan, the house now has a three-window front. The windows are leaded casements beneath wooden lintels. A 19th-century four-panel door is positioned to the right of centre, with a single-light leaded casement alongside, also under a wooden lintel. The gables have ashlar parapets and kneelers, and brick stacks are located at the ridge and end. A single-unit extension to the right has a leaded casement to the first floor and a canted wooden bay to the ground floor. The rear of this extension features an ashlar internal stack. Attached to the left-hand side are 18th-century stables, now used as outbuildings, which have one stable door and a Collyweston slate roof. The interior remains uninspected. The building holds group value in its contribution to the character of the local area.
