Description
The Maltings is a house that has been converted into two dwellings, dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a Collyweston slate roof. Originally designed with a three-unit plan, the building stands two storeys high with an attic and has a three-window range of three-light stone mullion windows.
On the left, there is a 20th-century door that has a moulded stone surround with a four-centre head and a cornice above it. To the right, another 20th-century door is set under a concrete lintel. The building has large limestone quoins, ashlar gable parapets, and kneelers, as well as one roof dormer. There are brick and ashlar stacks located at the ridge and ends. The left gable features three single-light openings with stone surrounds and one two-light stone mullion window.
At the rear, there is an early 18th-century range that includes one two-light stone mullion window. Although the interiors were not inspected, they likely contain remnants of open fireplaces.
