Description
No. 16 Arnhill Road is a mid-18th century house built from regularly coursed limestone, featuring a thatch and artificial slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. The elevation facing the road has a single-window range with a 20th-century casement and a 20th-century door to the left. There is a brick gable parapet and a brick stack at the ridge. The left gable includes three 20th-century casements, one on each floor, all under wooden lintels. At the rear, there is a wing that projects forward with an irregular abutment, featuring a two-window range of 19th and 20th-century casements, also under wooden lintels; the left casements are set in the corner abutment with the adjacent range. A panelled door to the left of centre also has a wooden lintel. There is a one-window range at right angles to the left, which is similar in style, with an artificial slate roof and brick and stone stacks at the ridge. The interior has not been inspected.
