Description
Rose Cottage is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century to the 18th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and ironstone, with some parts banded, and features a 20th-century asbestos slate roof. The original layout was a two-unit plan, and the building stands two storeys high. It has a two-window range, with 19th-century casements on the first floor and a two-light stone mullion window on the ground floor. The central entrance has a 19th-century plank door and a 20th-century porch. The gable ends have ashlar parapets, and there is an ashlar stack with a moulded cornice to the left, along with a brick stack to the right. Inside, there is a chamfered spine beam and the remains of an open fireplace with a bressumer.
