Description
Sundown and its railings are a house and railings dating from the late 18th century, with some minor alterations from the early and late 19th century. The building is constructed of stucco and features a slate roof with raised stone coped gables and two yellow brick gable stacks. It has a three-storey, three-bay front, with the two outer bays projecting through all three storeys. The central entrance consists of a half-glazed panelled door that has a traceried overlight and a fluted surround with a dentillated pediment supported by brackets. This door is flanked by single glazing bar segmental bow windows, which project slightly and have narrow leaded cornices.
On the first floor, there is a central glazing bar sash window flanked by single splayed glazing bar sash bay windows. The second floor repeats this pattern with smaller windows. To the right of the main house is a single bay, two-storey addition from the 19th century, which includes a wide garage door and a tripartite window above it. There is also a semi-circular headed planked door leading to a rear passage. The railings feature two tiers of plain square spikes, with top and mid rails that have turned knops at the ends and central pillars.
