Description
Willow Bank is a house with a gate and railings, built around 1720 and altered in the early 19th century. It features orange brick and a concrete tiled roof. The front has five bays and was originally two storeys with a garret, but was raised to three full storeys in the 19th century. The central entrance has a six-panelled door with an overlight, surrounded by a plain wooden frame with pilasters that support a narrow frieze and hood. This door is flanked by pairs of glazing bar sash windows. On the first floor, there are five glazing bar sashes, and on the second floor, there are five smaller glazing bar sashes, all with segmental brick heads.
Inside, the dog leg staircase has turned and knopped balusters and a carved string. The ground floor front room on the right is fully panelled and features a dentillated cornice, a panelled beam, and two alcoves with semi-circular heads and panelled reveals. The first and second floors contain fully panelled 18th-century cupboards, one of which has L and H hinges. The first-floor bedrooms have small grates fitted with Delft tiles. The 19th-century railings and gate are topped with a rail and decorative pointed finials, sitting on a stone plinth.
