Description
Tanglewood Cottage and the adjoining cottage are a pair of cottages dating from the late 18th century. They are constructed of squared coursed limestone. Tanglewood Cottage features an old tile roof, while the adjoining cottage has a concrete tile roof and a brick ridge stack. Each cottage has a one-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with a four-window range. Tanglewood Cottage has an entrance in a mid-20th century addition to the left, with small single-light and two-light leaded casements, as well as fixed-light windows with glazing bars above. The adjoining cottage has a plank door with a wooden lintel to the right, two two-light casements, and a 20th-century fire window, along with three-light and two-light casements above. Most of the leaded lights throughout are from the 20th century. Both cottages feature blackened wood lintels on the ground floor. The interior of the adjoining cottage is noted for having an open fireplace, which may have been altered. The cottages are included for their group value.
