Description
Shakespeare Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century that has been restored, partly rebuilt, and extended in the late 20th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill and has a 20th-century tile roof with brick ridge stacks. The building is L-shaped, extended to a U-shape, and has two storeys, along with a one-storey and attic section. It has a one-window range but includes three ground floor windows. The entrance is located on the right return side and features a 20th-century half-glazed door with a late 19th-century trellis porch. The cottage has 19th-century leaded-light casements, two of which have simple wooden hoods. The right return side is underbuilt in brick, and the gable has plastered infill. There is a timber-framed range beyond that includes a small projection, likely a bread oven. The left return side has been rebuilt in brick, while the rear shows exposed framing. The interior has not been inspected.
