Description

Brooklands is a house dating from the 17th century that has been restored and extended in the late 20th century. It features a timber frame with thin scantling and brick infill below, while the upper section to the right has whitewashed render infill. The left side is covered in fishscale-patterned tile hanging. The brick extensions to the right are topped with plain tiled roofs, which are half-hipped over the extensions. The building has a T-shaped plan with the original entrance located at the rear and extensions to the right.

The new entrance front is two storeys high, with an end section to the left and a corbelled stack to the right. The gable end features a four-light window on the first floor and a larger window on the ground floor below. Above this is a Queen post roof. To the left, there are two leaded windows on each floor of the framed bay return range. The left-hand range has one leaded casement window on each floor, while the right-hand extension has two leaded casements on the ground floor and a gabled dormer above. There is a 20th-century four-centre arched door located to the left in the extension at the junction with the old house.
