Description
The Close is a former vicarage, now a house, built around 1820 with later additions. It features painted brick with a stucco front and a hipped slate roof with brick ridges and cross-axial stacks. The building has a double-depth plan with extensions to the left.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window range, with the centre section breaking forward. The entrance features a moulded doorcase and a glazed door set in panelled reveals. The ground floor windows are set in segmental-headed recesses and have small-paned cross-casements with labelmoulds above. The first floor windows are similar. The right side of the building has two windows on each floor, also with labelmoulds and similar casements. To the left, there is a single-storey range with casement windows. A small 20th-century addition is located at the rear.
The house stands in an important position across the road from the church. The interior has not been inspected.
