Description
Loxley Farmhouse is a former farmhouse, now a house, dating to the 17th century with later alterations and additions. It is constructed with a timber frame and painted brick infill on a painted limestone plinth. The left half of the building is of brick. The steeply pitched thatched roof has two brick cross-axial stacks and a further stack at the front, all positioned to the ridge line. The house follows a four-unit plan.
The exterior is single storey with an attic. It has a four-window front. The entrance is on the left side of the centre and features a doorcase with moulded pilasters, simplified consoles and an open pediment, leading to a six-panel door with two glazed panels. Most windows are 3-light leaded casements. The ground floor of the left half has two segmental-headed windows: a 2-light leaded casement on the left, and a small-paned iron glazing unit with a central pivoted light on the right. Attic windows are set within eyebrow dormers. A late 20th century single-storey addition is located on the left return.
The interior was not inspected during the listing process.
