Description
The cascade at the mouth of the River Dene, where it flows into the River Avon, is located to the south of Charlecote Park. It was originally constructed in the 1760s when Lancelot 'Capability' Brown redesigned the park. The structure is made of dressed squared stone and features a stepped cascade between abutments that are swept out to either side. The south abutment has a heart-shaped panel that may include initials and a date. The cascade was redesigned in 1867.
