Description
31 Sheep Street is a town house that has been converted into a shop. It likely dates from the late 15th century and has undergone later alterations. The building features a timber frame with some sections of plastered brick and has a tile roof with brick stacks. It is a single-storey structure with a cross-wing and a later rear wing. The entrance includes a 20th-century door flanked by windows, while the wing has windows with 20th-century frames. There is a lateral stack on the wing and a tall stack at the rear of the ridge. The rear wing also has a 19th-century lantern topped with a pyramidal roof. Some of the framing is close-studded, and there is exposed framing on the first floor of the wing, as well as on the left return. Inside, the building features chamfered beams and some exposed framing.
