Description
Number 19 Sheep Street is a town house that has been converted into a shop and dwelling. It dates from around 1810 and has had some alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed of brick with buff headers and features a tile roof with a brick stack at one end. It is designed in the Georgian style and stands two stories tall, with a three-window range.
A prominent feature is the top modillioned brick cornice. The large projecting shop front, added in the 20th century, includes a central entrance. To the left, there is a round-headed entrance with a doorcase that has reeded pilasters, entablature blocks, and an open pediment. Above the six-flush-panel door, there is a fanlight with radial glazing bars. The first floor has windows with rubbed brick cambered arches over 12-pane sash windows, and there is a small inserted window to the right of the central window, which has a fire mark above it.
Inside, there is a winding staircase at the end, featuring a cut string and stick balusters, and an elliptical-headed doorway to the right.
