Description
Nos. 13 and 14 Sheep Street is a town house that has been converted into shops and a dwelling. It dates from around 1800, featuring a refronting of what may be a 17th-century building. The structure is made of whitewashed brick, with some internal timber-framing, and has a slate roof, although No. 14 has a 20th-century pantile roof. There are brick axial and wide end stacks. The building is designed in a Georgian style and stands three storeys tall with a three-window range.
The top features a modillioned brick cornice. The round-headed entry is located to the left of centre and has a wide-board door. No. 13 has an entrance with a half-glazed door, a plate glass bay window to the left with bull's eye upper lights, and a window to the right that was likely a former entrance. No. 14 has an entrance to the left of an oriel window. The first floor includes windows with sills and rubbed brick flat arches over 12-pane sash windows, flanking a blind window. The second floor has windows with sills and 6-pane sashes, also flanking a blind window.
Inside, there is some exposed timber-framing and chamfered beams, and No. 13 features a fireplace.
