Description
24 and 25 Sheep Street is a town house that has been converted into two offices. It dates from the 16th century or early 17th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The building features a timber frame with plaster infill and a tiled roof. It is two storeys high and has a three-window range, with the upper storey jettied and largely underbuilt.
On the ground floor, there is a plaster plinth supporting small-paned shop windows. Number 24 has two bay windows with flanking lights beside an entrance that has a glazed door. Number 25 features a large entrance recess with a door leading to an entryway. The first floor has 20th-century leaded casements, including a gabled four-light canted oriel window at the left end and a four-light window at the right end, with a small central light. The building has storey-height posts with a middle rail and some braces.
Inside, you can find broadly chamfered beams and exposed timber framing.
