Description

Fountain Laundry is a town house that has been converted into a shop. It dates back to the 16th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The building features close-studded timber-framing with plaster infill and has an old and renewed tile roof. It has a two-unit plan with a rear wing and stands two storeys tall with a two-window range. The entrance is from the 20th century, and the first floor jetties out, featuring 20th-century windows and an entrance below. The first floor includes three-light leaded casements and there is a gablet at the end of the rear wing. Inside, the building showcases exposed close-studded framing along with heavy chamfered beams and joists.
