Description
21 and 21A Greenhill Street is a farmhouse that has been converted into shops. It dates back to the early 17th century, with a refronting that occurred around 1800. The building is constructed of brick and timber-frame, topped with a renewed tile roof. It stands two storeys high and features a two-window range with plain eaves. The ground floor includes an entrance and early 20th-century shop windows on either side, which have leaded upper lights and an arch-braced hipped pentice. On the first floor, there are three-light casements with iron opening casements. At the rear, there is a gabled timber-framed wing with brick infill, along with a 20th-century flat-roofed wing. The interior is reported to have chamfered beams and exposed timber-framing on both floors.
