Description
Broom Cottage and Lilac Cottage are a row of three cottages, originally four, located on the north side of Main Street in Exhall. These cottages date back to a time when timber framing was common, featuring rendered brick infill and a concrete tile roof. The structure includes one internal brick chimney and a large lias external stack with two brick shafts on the left wall. The cottages are designed as one and two-unit homes, with one storey and an attic that has five 20th-century dormers and one skylight. The front has two 20th-century doors and 20th-century casement windows. The interior has been significantly altered, and there are 20th-century additions at the rear, including a single-storey extension to the right.
