Description
Old Timbers is a row of three cottages that have been combined into one house. They date from the mid to late 18th century and have been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The structure features thin timber-framing with red brick infill laid in stretcher bond, and was originally rendered at the front. It has a plain-tile roof with brick stacks at the ends and along the ridge. Originally, the cottages had a one-unit plan. The building is two stories high and has a three-window range. There are three 20th-century plank doors and leaded casement windows with two lights on both the ground and first floors; all are from the 20th century except for the window on the far left of the first floor, which may be original and contains some old glass. The timber-framing displays alternating wide and thin upright panels arranged in four tiers. The render was removed during renovations in the 20th century.
