Description
52 Well Street is a house from the early 19th century that has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. It features unpainted render with incised masonry patterns over red brick and uncoursed rubble, topped with a 20th-century ridged tile roof and a brick stack at one end. The building has a two-unit plan and stands three stories tall with a two-window range. The central entrance has a panelled door set in a pegged wood surround, which is topped by a chamfered wood lintel and a straight hood supported by shaped brackets. To the left of the entrance is a 20th-century window, while the right side has a 16-pane sash window. The first floor contains 12-pane sash windows, and the second floor features 9-pane sash windows. The house also has rendered quoins and a stepped eaves cornice.
