Description
Hillborough House is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with a mid to late 19th century addition. The original structure is timber framed with plastered infill, while the addition and one section of the framing have been replaced with whitewashed brick. The roof is tiled from the mid to late 19th century, featuring bands of fish-scale tiles, and there are brick stacks at the internal and end walls. The building has a two-unit plan that has been extended to three units. It stands one storey high with an attic, which includes two dormers. The ground floor features four windows and a fire-window next to the internal stack. The entrance is located in the 20th century rear addition, which has 20th century casement windows. Inside, some framing is exposed, and there is an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer.
