Description

This is an early 18th-century cottage with an addition dating to the mid-19th century. It is timber-framed with white-washed brick infill and brick facing. The roof is covered in old tiles to the front and 20th-century tiles to the rear. A large brick external stack is located at the left end, with windows built into its base. The cottage follows a two-unit plan, with one storey and an attic containing a dormer. A brick outshut, with a catslide roof extending across part of the front, incorporates a 20th-century porch and a 19th-century plank door inside. There are 19th- and 20th-century casement windows. A framed outshut is present at the rear. Exposed timber framing is visible on the end wall and rear. The interior remains largely unaltered, featuring an inglenook fireplace with a 1930s cast iron range, plank doors, and a quarter-turn staircase.
