Description

Manor Cottage is a house dating back to the 17th century, with later alterations and restoration. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill and a brick addition to the right end, and has a steeply pitched thatched roof. A brick stack rises from the ridge towards the front of the house, with end stacks, the right-hand one projecting. A large brick rear range was added in the early 20th century and has a slate roof. The house is arranged in a three-unit plan.

The exterior is single-storey with an attic. The front has a three-window arrangement. The entrance, located to the left of centre, is a 6-panel door with two glazed panels set within a moulded wooden frame, and is sheltered by a 20th-century thatched porch. To the left of the entrance are two segmental-headed windows with 2-light casements containing small panes of glass; two similar windows are located to the right. Three raking dormers feature casements with iron opening mechanisms. The timber-frame construction extends to the right of the porch only on the front elevation.

The right return side of the house has an offset stack, while the left return side features a 20th-century garage with a tile lean-to at the front. The interior of the house was not inspected during the listing process.
