Description
This barn, dating from the 17th century, is located approximately 75 meters south-southeast of Oversley Castle. It features a timber-framed structure with close studding and square panels, set on a coursed squared ashlar plinth, topped with a plain tile roof. The barn has weatherboarding and includes sections of 18th and 19th century red brick infill. It consists of five bays, with central opposing double doors that open to a threshing floor, which has low side walls and struts. There is a later first floor in the bay to the right, equipped with metal pulley wheels. The roof is a five-bay queen post design, featuring curved struts above the collars and curved windbraces supporting the lower set of purlins. Additionally, there are two 19th century windows located at the rear.
