Description

Oversley Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into two houses. It dates from the early 17th century and features a timber frame with small framing and brick infill. The roof is tiled and includes a central lias stack with a brick shaft. Originally designed with a two-unit baffle entry plan, the layout evolved into a T-plan due to late 18th to early 19th century and late 19th century additions. The building is two storeys high and has a two-window range.

The central entrance consists of a 19th-century plank door with a glazed panel, framed by a simply moulded wood surround. Throughout the property, there are 19th-century wood and iron casements. A late 19th-century brick gabled cross wing extends prominently to the right, featuring a door and a window on each floor. At the rear, there is late 18th to early 19th-century brickwork with a cornice made of diagonally set headers. The left cross wing is constructed of coursed lias with a weatherboarded gable, which includes a ground floor bay window and casements with glazing bars. The right wall of this wing has a six-panelled door with a hood supported by shaped brackets, while the left wall features a large external stack. The interior has not been inspected. Additionally, there is a mid-20th-century single-storey addition across the gable end of the main range.
