Description
Bank Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was formerly three separate dwellings. It features a timber frame with plaster infill and has a thatched roof with brick stacks at the center and right end. The cottage has a three-unit plan and is one storey high with an attic that includes two small dormers. The front has a central 20th-century door and an adjacent window, along with two pairs of leaded light casements—one of which is old and the other a late 20th-century replacement for a door. The end walls display exposed framing. There is an outshut with a catslide roof at the rear, which is possibly a later addition, as well as a small late 20th-century extension. Inside, the cottage retains exposed framing and is reputed to have originally served as charity cottages.
