Description

32 High Street is part of an inn that has been converted into an office and flat. It dates from the 17th century, according to the Victoria County History, and was refronted in the mid to late 19th century. The building is said to be timber framed, with a front made of colour-washed brick, a rendered ground floor, and a brick dentil cornice. It has a 20th-century tiled roof and no visible chimneys. The structure is L-shaped, with two storeys and an attic, featuring a two-window range. The open entrance has a wooden lintel and leads to a passage with two 20th-century doors and a very large late 20th-century bow window. The first floor has four-pane sash windows with wooden lintels and painted stone sills. There is a single casement dormer and a short gabled wing at the rear. Nos. 26, 30, and 32 were formerly known as the Talbot Inn.
