Description

Lower Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that has undergone mid to late 19th-century alterations, along with a small single-storey addition on the right side and an early 20th-century addition on the left. The building is constructed of regularly coursed limestone, while the 20th-century addition features imitation ashlar render. The roofs are covered with concrete tiles.

The right end stack includes two diagonally set shafts made of old brick, while the left end stack is made of 20th-century brick. Originally a two-unit plan, the farmhouse has been extended to a three-unit layout. The central doorway, which was previously a window, has a large stone lintel and features a late 20th-century door and windows. To the right, there is a mid to late 20th-century metal casement window.

On the first floor, there are three-light and two-light 19th-century casements with horizontal glazing bars, supported by wooden lintels. The single-storey range has a late 20th-century half-glazed door and window on the left return side, along with a late 20th-century porch and casement window. At the rear, there are two and three-light casements, and a partially blocked door with a window inserted.

Inside, the room to the right features a broad ogee stop-chamfered ceiling beam and joists, along with a large open fireplace that has a chamfered bressumer.
