Description

This milestone, dating from around 1779, was created for the Caldon Canal Company. It is made of dressed ashlar stone and has a roughly triangular, wedge shape with a rounded top, standing approximately 60 cm high. The left side of the milestone displays the number "1," while the right side shows "16." This milestone dates to the first phase of the Caldon Canal, prior to its extension to Uttoxeter.
