Description

Milestone, dating from around 1779, for the Caldon Canal Company. It is made of dressed ashlar stone and has a roughly triangular wedge shape with a rounded top, standing approximately 40 centimeters high. The left side of the milestone reads "3" and the right side reads "14". This milestone dates to the first phase of the Caldon Canal before it was extended to Uttoxeter.
