Description
Booth's Hall is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the late 19th century. The front gable features coursed dressed and squared stone of ashlar quality, topped with a tiled roof. It has verge parapets with pitched copings and a twin-shafted side stack on the left side of the central range, along with end stacks. The building has a cruciform plan, with a 17th-century cross-wing flanked by 19th-century additions. A central gabled projection rises two stories and includes an attic, set on a chamfered plinth. The gable slightly overhangs the wall, and there is a single range of labelled windows in 17th-century chamfered reveals, which were originally fitted with chamfered mullions but now have 19th-century casements. The set-back lower wings on the right and left each consist of one bay. The entrance is located at the south end. The west gable retains mullions for an attic and first-floor five-light window and features a blocked owl hole at the apex.
