Description
This pair of cottages, dating from the 18th century, is located approximately 50 yards south-west of The Old School in Farley. The cottages are constructed of ashlar stone with herringbone tooling and feature a plain tile roof adorned with shaped tile bands. They have an ashlar ridge stack and an integral end stack with square section shafts. The cottages are aligned north-east to south-west and face south-east. The cottage on the south-west side has a baffle-entry plan. They are one storey with an attic, and the left-hand cottage includes a basement. Each cottage has three bays with chamfered mullioned windows that contain iron casements; the ground floor windows have three lights while the attic windows have two lights. There are two gabled attic dormers, and the doors are located to the right and to the right of centre, with a basement door on the left.
