Description

These are a pair of cottages, likely dating from the late 17th century, with later alterations and additions. They are constructed of ashlar stone, featuring distinctive herringbone tooling, and have a plain tile roof with brick end stacks. The cottages are arranged with a two-cell plan, oriented north-east to south-west and facing south-east. A further extension projects to the north-west, aligned north-west to south-east. The cottages are two storeys in height with a gable-lit attic. They have two bays, with two-light chamfer mullioned windows on the ground floor, featuring rebated frames and a hood mould, plus a small quatrefoil-shaped light between them. A small fire window is located on the ground floor to the left. The ground floor window and the first floor windows are casements, probably replacing earlier mullioned windows. A door is positioned in each gable end.
