Description
This barn, located approximately 50 meters north-west of Pipe Hall, dates from the late 17th century and features late 19th-century alterations. It has a timber frame with brick infill and is partially weatherboarded. The gables and the south-east end have been rebuilt in brick, and the roof is tiled. The structure consists of approximately three bays, arranged in three square panels high. An outshut on the north-east side conceals former external framing, which includes diagonal braces under the wall plate at the bay divisions. The roof structure includes double-purlins and wind braces on tie and collar trusses, with diagonal struts reaching the apex and double braces under the ties.
