Description
The barn located to the northwest of The Hall is a warehouse dating from the late 15th century or early 16th century, with some additions from the 17th century. It features a timber frame that is plastered and weatherboarded, with 17th-century local bricks and 19th-century gault brick foundations and walls. The roof is half-hipped and covered with plain tiles. The original structure is substantially framed and includes one closed truss partition and an original floor, with mortices in the northeast elevation indicating it may have originally been aisled. In the 17th century, three additional bays were added, complete with a floor, and the entire building was roofed with a side purlin and queen strut roof. Inside, there are rows of regularly placed peg holes that may have been used for pegs or shelves for storing specialized items. The northeast elevation features four 19th-century wooden latticed windows with shutters and boarded doors.
