Description

The Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse from the mid-18th century that was enlarged in the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features tiled roofs with dentilled, cogged, and canted eaves courses, as well as verge parapets and end stacks. The building has a complex T-shaped plan due to a change in its frontage from the south to the east.

It stands two storeys high with an attic. The east front is characterized by a tall gable that includes a range of segmental-headed three-light casements. To the left of this gable is a lower wing that has one window; this wing features a transomed casement with a segmental head. The entrance is positioned against the gable line, complete with a canopy and a boarded door.

To the right of the gable is a set-back wing from the early 19th century, which has two windows and an entrance that is also set against the gable. This entrance is round-arched and has a 20th-century glazed door. The original southern frontage, which has been altered, featured banding at the floor levels and was previously made up of three segmental-headed casements, with the central one being smaller. This original front is now partly obscured by a gabled projection that conceals the ground floor center and the right side of the first floor.
