Description
Pipe Place is a farmhouse built in the mid-18th century, with later additions from the late 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features raised bands at the first and second floor levels, along with tiled roofs and verge parapets that have end stacks. The building has a large 'T'-shaped plan and is two stories tall with an attic, presenting a two-window front. Gabled dormers above feature 3-light segmental-head casements. The entrance is located to the left of center and has a moulded surround with consoles supporting a low pediment, leading to a 6-panel door. An addition to the left continues the string courses and includes circular, conical roofed turrets at the corners beneath a hipped roof; this side has one window with two lights. The north-east face has a 19th-century gabled single-storey projection, which may have been intended as an entrance porch but now includes a window. At the rear, there is an extensive contemporary wing with three windows that match those at the front.
