Description
Woodend Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations and additions made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick with raised bands at the floor levels and features tiled roofs. The 18th-century parts have verge parapets and ridge stacks. The building has a T-shaped plan and a complex frontage facing east. To the right, there are two storeys and a gable-lit attic with a projecting gable that has a range of three-light casement windows, which are segmental-headed on the ground and first floors. To the left, there is a set-back wing with one window above the entrance, which has a moulded surround, frieze, and cornice leading to a part-glazed six-panel door. Attached to the left is a lower two-storey wing of similar length to the taller section, featuring three casement windows and a central projecting gable. The original frontage was on the north side of the taller part.
