Description
Tivey's Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the mid-18th century, with later extensions from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile roof with a brick ridge stack and an end stack. The building has an L-shaped plan, with the main section oriented north-east to south-west, facing north-west, and a rear wing extending to the north-east. The farmhouse was expanded to the north-east in the 18th century and to the south-west in the 19th century. It stands two storeys high, with a first-floor band and a dentilled eaves band, and has an attic in the gable to the left of the center. The original house displays a regular three-bay front, with the gable of the rear wing on the left. The windows are three-light glazing bar casements with segmental heads, although the central window is blind and narrower than the outer ones. The ground floor features 19th-century sash windows, and there is a central half-glazed door with a bracketed hood. There are single-bay extensions on both the left and right sides, with the left extension dating from the 18th century and the right from the 19th century.
