Description

Park Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped plain tile roof with central brick stacks. The building has a roughly square plan that faces west, with short wings attached to the north-east and south-east corners. It stands three storeys tall, with reduced proportions on the second floor. A continuous band runs along the first floor, and there is a moulded stone eaves cornice. The façade consists of three bays with glazing bar sash windows that have gauged brick heads. The ground floor includes mid-19th century canted bay windows with a cyma recta-moulded cornice and glazing bar sashes. A central mid-19th century porch features glazed doors, a rectangular overlight, and a cyma-recta-moulded cornice, and it is accessed by three stone steps. There are two-storey, single-bay set-back wings on either side, which have a storey band and casements with gauged brick heads. To the right, there is a mid-19th century conservatory located in the angle between the house and the wing, which has a hipped slate roof and has been altered in the mid to late 20th century. Inside, there is a late 18th century dog-leg staircase with turned balusters.
